Dogs in apartments - A dog can be your best friend and brighten up your life. But there are certain precautions that need to be taken to make sure your dog is happy in its environment.

Noise - Dogs who bark a lot may not be ideal for an apartment setting. Nobody wants to deal with annoyed neighbors.

Energetic dogs - Dogs with high energy aren't ideal for a small space either. A dog who is cooped up may get stressed, which can lead to bad behavior.

Lazy dogs - Ideally a low-energy, quiet dog is what you want in an apartment. It's better for you, your neighbors ,and your canine friend.

Walking the dog - One thing you have to do is take your dog out for exercise. Even if your dog has free rein of the apartment, they need to get out and about at least once a day.

English bulldog - Some dogs adapt better to restricted spaces than others. English bulldogs for example, are relaxed, lazy, and love a good sofa.

Pug - Pugs love people. They may be ugly but they're friendly, lazy, and clingy.

Toy poodle - Toy poodles are intelligent, affectionate, and sociable. They're also easy to train.

Contact with nature - If you have a park or nature reserve near you, make the most of it and take your dog. Contact with nature and other dogs will make your pet happier and better socialised.

Exercise - Exercise is important for your dog. Take them somewhere they can run and chase a ball. It will help their physical and mental state.

Lhasa apso - These little dogs are great for small spaced because of their size and their calm nature. The problem is they do leave a lot of hair around.

Maltese dog - Maltese dogs love people and are friendly without being excessively energetic. They don't like being isolated though, so remember to take them out!

Business time - All breeds will need to do their business, so take them somewhere suitable, and always clean up after them.

Toys! -

Give your dog toys or bones to keep them occupied and happy! If your dog can be a bit mischievous it's also a good way to stop them tearing the place up!

Home alone - Don't leave your dog home alone all day. A few hours won't do any harm, but it's important that they have some company. So have a friend stop by or go home at lunch to give them a quick walk. Play with them as much as you can.

Socialize - Dogs are naturally social animals, and since you and your dog will be sharing a space, maybe even with other people, make sure you pick a dog who is good at socializing.

Boston terrier - Boston terriers are fun and they love children. They may be suited to apartments but they can get anxious so they need lots of walks and attention.

Bichon frisé - These dogs have their pros and cons. On one hand they don't bark much, but on the other hand they can be restless and need lots of attention.
