Researchers from the Institute of Nutrition at Fudan University in Shanghai, China, discovered a correlation between the quantity of ultra-processed food eaten and the chances of developing Parkinson’s disease. What’s more, this kind of food can also lead to an earlier onset of the disease.

The study found that eating a dozen servings of ultra-processed food can more than double the chances of developing Parkinson’s. For a real-life comparison, a serving can equate to a hot dog, a tablespoon of ketchup, or slightly less than a small bag of potato chips.
