Listening to music can be a truly magical experience, but sometimes songs get so popular that we grow tired of hearing them. Unfortunately, there is only so much you can do about it. Sure, we can avoid the song by not playing it, but we can't control TV, radio, DJs, or the internet. In this gallery, we revisit some of the world's biggest hits, that have such annoying elements and got so much airplay that we don't want to hear them ever again!

Click on at your own risk. You might end up singing these catchy songs in your head and they might stay there for a while... You've been warned!

"I'm a Barbie girl, in the Barbie world / Life in plastic, it's fantastic / You can brush my hair, undress me everywhere / Imagination, life is your creation." Who knew Aqua were such great poets? Barbie may be experiencing a renaissance but this song can stay in the past!

▲

"Who, who, who, who, who?" Bonus points if you bark like a dog while singing it!

▲

Akon picked up on Cher's autotune technique and perfected it. The result is this song!

▲

Want to break up with your partner and don't know how? Send them this song.

▲

With time, if your name is Angela, Pamela, Sandra, Rita, Monica, Erica, Tina, Mary, or Jessica, you realized being name-dropped isn't all that great. The rest of us are just happy to hear this song no more than once a year.

▲

Trying to sing this song would leave you out of breath, but everyone did it anyway. And all they wanted was to "zigazig ah."

▲

Virtually every bar and club you walked into had people dancing to the song and doing the choreography. Then they got school kids doing it, and eventually it became a staple at many family events.

▲

The single that made the Canadian singer explode in popularity also nearly blew our nerves every time we listened to it.

▲

'Despacito' was absolutely huge. The song broke numerous records, including our capacity to listen to it without rolling our eyes.

▲

The song that popularized the use of autotune as a voice effect pierced through our ears like a high-pitch whistle.

▲

Including the silly choreography. Sometimes the world just goes mad like this!

▲

“I'm blue da ba dee da ba daa. Da ba dee da ba daa, da ba dee da ba daa, da ba dee da ba daa. Da ba dee da ba daa, da ba dee da ba daa, da ba dee da ba daa.” Do we need to say more?

▲

In the unlikely event that you haven't watched the video for this song, we urge you to do so. Beware: you won't be able to unwatch it!

▲

Largely depending on your age in the late '90s, you either loved or hated this song. But even if you loved it, these days you've probably come to your senses...

▲

There is something inherently annoying about this overly-positive song...

▲

Come on, sing it: "And eye-ee-eyeeeeeeeee, will always love you-wooo-hooooooooo."

▲

And here's another extremely annoying ballad we're all happy is not in the charts anymore. Or do you secretly love it?

▲

Every child that watched 'Frozen' sang this song. All the time. Their poor, poor parents.

▲

The Black Eyed Peas have their fair share of annoying tunes, but this one takes the cake!

▲

This children's song went viral and was used in millions of videos on social media. Every day we were bombarded with it!

▲

This hit by the country king of the mullet is jut unbearable to listen to.

▲

"Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm, Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm, Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm..." Annoyed yet, or shall we continue?

▲

The Swedish Eurodance group's take on American folk songs just leaves you gasping for air and with a ring in your ears.

▲

A great sense of rhythm—we must admit—but how annoying is this song, right?

▲

The song is originally from a duo called Secret Garden, but most music talent show contestants would sing Westlife's version (especially in the UK).

▲

Looking more akin to a cult than a family, their song 'Fell in Love with an Alien' got tons of airplay in 1997, particularly in Europe.

▲

Okay, the Canadian rockers are an easy target. They've been mocked for a number of reasons, including this song. You might think we're being mean, but have you listened to it? And how about the video? Everything is just so cringey.

▲

Sure, he had great abs, but great abs don't necessarily translate into a great song. It was super catchy though.

▲

You probably remember the original song from the movie 'Dirty Dancing' (1987). But this Eurodance version of the song is just so annoying.

▲

The Dutch Eurodance group had a number of hits in the late '90s and early '2000s, particularly in Europe. This was a hard choice, given the many annoying songs they have!

▲

Pure '80s cheese. The intention was good, but how many people shouted "We are the world, we are the children" completely out of tune in our ears throughout the years?
