Justin Baldoni and his wife, Emily Baldoni, are speaking publicly for the first time since settling the legal dispute surrounding the film 'It Ends with Us' (2024) and his former costar Blake Lively. In an Instagram video shared on July 8, the couple reflected on the past two years, saying they had remained silent because they did not feel the timing was right.
In the video, Emily said the couple had experienced “a lot of trauma” that made it difficult to speak publicly, while Baldoni said they wanted to avoid adding to the public conversation while the legal process played out. “We are healing,” he said.
‘It Ends With Us’ was released in 2024 and directed by Justin Baldoni, who costarred alongside Blake Lively. The film achieved great box-office success, but the drama that has unfolded since has been far greater. The film has strong themes of domestic violence, and Lively’s handling of them during the press tour was so bad that she received major backlash. Then, in the middle of it all, she dropped a huge lawsuit against Baldoni, accusing him of harassment.
What ensued was one of Hollywood’s biggest legal battles, with A-list stars like Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck, and Matt Damon getting involved.
On May 4, a settlement was reached between Blake Lively and Baldoni.
