Deaths

Tim Curry passed away peacefully at his home in the Toluca Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles on August 25. He was 80 years old.

The British actor was known for his wide range of comedic and often villainous roles. He is perhaps best remembered for playing Dr. Frank-N-Furter in ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ (1975).

Curry’s later film roles included Rooster Hannigan in 1982’s 'Annie' and Wadsworth in ‘Clue’ (1985). He was also well known to '90s audiences for playing the concierge in ‘Home Alone 2: Lost in New York’ (1992) and Long John Silver in ‘Muppet Treasure Island’ (1996).

In 2012, Curry suffered a major stroke that left him using a wheelchair. He largely stepped back from acting afterward, focusing instead on voiceover work. The actor never married, nor did he have any children.

Indeed, the year 2026 has already marked the loss of countless influential figures. From beloved actors to renowned directors, music icons, and sports legends, each helped shape our culture and is remembered in collective grief.
