Former US Congressman Barney Frank has died aged 86 after battling congestive heart failure. Widely regarded as one of the sharpest and most influential voices in American politics, Frank became the first member of the House to voluntarily come out as gay while in office. The longtime Massachusetts Democrat also co-authored the landmark Dodd-Frank financial reform law and was a leading advocate for LGBTQ+ rights throughout his career.
