On January 21, 2017, millions of people across the United States took to the streets in what became the largest one-day protest in the nation’s history. The Women’s March, held the day after President Donald Trump’s first inauguration, was a response to his election, advocating for women’s rights and broader social justice issues.

With an estimated three to five million participants nationwide, the march addressed a range of concerns, including reproductive rights, immigration policies, LGBTQ+ rights, racial and gender equality, and protections against religious discrimination. Despite cold weather, demonstrations took place in cities across the country, uniting protesters in a historic display of activism.
