Channing Tatum releases children's book about lying, reveals moment that inspired it
See which celebrities who have written children's books

From actors to comedians and musicians, some of the most popular picture books have a well-known face behind the story. Whether it be an autobiography or a wildly imaginative work of fiction, many celebrities have proven surprisingly talented when it comes to writing children's books.
Channing Tatum wrote his third children's book in the Sparkella series, titled 'The One and Only Sparkella and the Big Lie,' after finding inspiration from his own daughter Everly. "The first one came kind of so easy, about your anxiety and your anticipation of going on the first day of school," Tatum told People. “And for the second one, it was once you have these high expectations and it’s not going like you planned, how do you make the best out of it?" The third one was trickier, he said, as kids are learning so fast, but he noted that around five years old kids "really start to experiment with lying and really telling these untruths to see how they make them feel. They're starting to use them as tools in a way."
He recalled a time when his daughter stole a little toy car from school and he could tell "it was eating her up." She called him in at bedtime and "She's like, 'You're just going to be so mad at me. I just can't tell you.' And I'm like, 'Evie, just tell me. I'm not going to be mad. I promise. We'll handle whatever it is. It's okay.'" She finally confessed and "it was a big relief," though she had to return it and apologize. "I think it was a big lesson for her. It was that first one. That first big, big one that you feel like your world's going to end.”
'The Big Lie' sees Sparkella "borrow" a friend's toy to impress a cool new kid at school. “I usually always kind of connect it to something that I went through with Evie that I can understand at least the emotional journey of it," Tatum said.
