Gwyneth Paltrow has shared her personal approach to managing anxiety, offering advice during an Instagram Stories Ask Me Anything session on January 21. The actress and Goop founder, who has previously spoken openly about her mental health, responded to a fan’s question by acknowledging that she cannot completely avoid anxiety, but works to keep it in check through a mix of mindfulness and self-care practices.
Paltrow said she focuses on gratitude, deep breathing, taking walks, and “shouting at the bushes.” She added: “It helps.”
She also addressed how she avoids overfunctioning and burnout, emphasizing the importance of being kind to herself. Like Paltrow, more and more celebs have opened up about their struggles with anxiety, and lots of them have even had debilitating panic attacks. When it comes down to it, the idols we see as unendingly confident and powerful are also just vulnerable human beings dealing with the same issues as the rest of us, only with millions of eyes watching their every move.
