According to findings by Bloomberg after a year-long investigation, Iran’s new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, son and successor of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has connections to a portfolio of luxury real estate in London. The reported assets total over US$130 million in UK property, as well as including holdings from luxury European hotels and bank accounts linked to Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates.
Additionally, two luxury apartments across from the Israeli embassy, which are also located near Kensington Palace, have been reported to have ties to the younger Khamenei.
The findings suggest that Khamenei was able to accumulate his portfolio since 2014, despite being under sanctions from the US that were imposed on him in 2019.
