Tiger Woods is expected to change his plea in a DUI case stemming from a March 27 rollover crash near his home in Jupiter Island, Florida. Court records show that the 50-year-old golf star’s attorney filed a motion on September 1 to change the not-guilty plea Woods entered after his arrest.
Woods is expected to appear in Martin County Circuit Court this September 2 for a plea conference hearing. No details have been released about what the plea will be changed to.
According to an arrest affidavit previously cited by People, Woods’ Land Rover rolled over after he overtook a truck carrying a pressure cleaning trailer. Deputies alleged they observed signs of impairment, including bloodshot and glassy eyes and dilated pupils, and said hydrocodone pills were found in his pocket.
Woods initially pleaded not guilty to charges, including DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful urine test. He later said he was stepping away from the spotlight to seek treatment and was granted permission to leave the US for rehab.
