In a 2022 episode of the YouTube series '2 Lies & A Leaf' from Ancestry, Ashley Tisdale discovered a familial connection to someone she's known for a long time! The 'High School Musical' alum was shocked to find out that her former co-star Austin Butler is actually her distant cousin. Butler, who starred in the 2022 'Elvis' biopic worked with Tisdale on the movie 'Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure' in 2011. The pair have been close friends for 15 years and Tisdale was beyond shocked to learn that they were related. She reflected that they've always been incredible close. "Austin and I always say that we're like fraternal twins born very far apart because he's much younger, and we've always had that connection."

Lance Bass also appeared on the Ancestry show '2 Lies & a Leaf' to explore his family history. Most people might hope to find they're distantly related to a founding father or a royal, but he discovered a familial connection to modern royalty - the Princess of Pop, Britney Spears! The NSYNC alum was shocked and delighted at the revelation. "For some reason I always felt like we looked like family, even when we were kids. I mean, this means so much to me. She is like family to me, so the fact that we are blood-related is amazing." The research revealed that Bass and Spears are sixth cousins once removed.
