Robert De Niro's NYC townhouse burgled while he and his daughter were home

The rich and famous can afford to install all the latest security measures, and yet burglaries are still more common in Hollywood than you might think. It can be even harder to ensure the safety of such high-profile targets when they travel abroad, as was the case for Kim Kardashian when she went to Paris Fashion Week in 2016.
Robert De Niro's New York City townhouse was burglarized while he was home in the early hours of December 19. A female robber was caught grabbing Christmas gifts from underneath the actor’s tree, law enforcement sources told The Post. The “known burglar,” who has 26 prior arrests, named Shanice Aviles broke into the actor's home around 2:30 a.m. unbeknownst to De Niro and his daughter who were upstairs. A police official confirmed there was no interaction between the star and the robber.
