On September 15, a Paris court awarded 1 euro (approximately US$1.15) to Kim Kardashian after she was the victim of an armed robbery in Paris back in 2016. According to one of the lawyers on the case, Kardashian was awarded with the amount of compensation she had asked for from the court.
In 2016, the robbers, dressed in police uniforms, forced their way into the star’s suite, bound Kardashian with zip ties and tape, and left with over US$6 million in jewelry, including a diamond ring she had worn to a Givenchy show earlier the same night. Later, she described the incident as "the most terrifying experience of my life."
The thieves, who became known as the "grandpa robbers" due to being in their sixties and seventies, were tried for armed robbery, kidnapping, gang associations, and other charges. Eight out of 10 of the culprits were found guilty, but none of them faced prison time, as some of the defendants already served time in pretrial detention.
