Beanie Feldstein -

In the case of Beanie Feldstein's shortened run as Fanny Brice in the revival of 'Funny Girl,' it may have been the lackluster reviews. The classic musical first opened on Broadway in 1964 and skyrocketed the great Barbra Streisand to fame, and was nominated for eight Tonys. The 2022 revival directed by Michael Mayer didn't do so well, unfortunately. In fact, it was completely snubbed at the Tonys. Feldstein was originally scheduled to play the leading role of Fanny Brice from April 24 until September 25, but she recently announced that she would end her run on July 31 instead. She explained that the production had decided “to take the show in a different direction.”

Rumors had already been swirling that 'Glee' star Lea Michele was pegged to replace Feldstein as Fanny Brice, and on July 11, Michele confirmed the news on Instagram. “A dream come true is an understatement,” she wrote. Michele's desire to star in 'Funny Girl' has long been known, and even became a major plot point for her character on 'Glee.' Michele will take to the stage for her first show on September 6th, with understudy Julie Benko filling in until then.

Ruby Stokes -

The Netflix series 'Bridgerton' was the runaway success of a lifetime, and fans are already chomping at the bit for season three. It seems that some of the young cast members didn't see themselves as recurring characters in a long-running TV series and chose to leave the show, like Regé-Jean Page who left the Duke behind after season one. Now, the actress who played the sixth-oldest Bridgerton sibling, Ruby Stokes, has announced that she is leaving the cast to star in another Netflix series, 'Lockwood & Co.' The role of Francesca Bridgerton will be taken over by Hannah Dodd, known for playing young Sophie in 'Anatomy of a Scandal.' 'Bridgerton' is based on a series of books by author Julia Quinn, and readers will know that Francesca Bridgerton will become a major character in a future season.

Armie Hammer -

Armie Hammer's entire upcoming slate of work was dropped in 2021 following a social media scandal. The controversy entailed some graphic sexual messages he allegedly sent out, accusations of assault, and questionable cannibalism fantasies. The actor has called these "bulls—t claims," but nonetheless stepped away from his upcoming roles. That included Paramount+'s limited series 'The Offer,' in which Hammer was supposed to star as 'The Godfather' producer Al Ruddy. Instead, 'Whiplash' star Miles Teller took his place in the story, which is based on the Oscar-winning producer Ruddy’s untold experiences of making the iconic 1972 film directed by Francis Coppola, Deadline reports.

Johnny Depp -

Johnny Depp lost out on his role as Grindelwald in the 'Fantastic Beasts' film series after he "was asked by Warner Bros to withdraw from the role after he came out on the losing end of an ugly legal battle he waged against a British tabloid for libeling him in describing him as a 'wife beater' in articles that covered his tempestuous marriage," reports Deadline. Warner Bros. announced that Mads Mikkelsen of 'Hannibal' fame will step into the role.
