A weirdly large number of people are obsessed with Julia Roberts’s armpit hair, particularly when she showed it at the premiere of ‘Notting Hill’ in 1999. Other stars have also been celebrated for sporting furry pits and, whether intentional or not, many people perceive the hair as a form of empowerment as well as a protest against ridiculous female beauty standards.
Naturally, anything a woman chooses to do with her body hair is her own right and empowering in its own way. But in a world that isn’t quite onboard with that idea yet, these are the celebrities who’ve grown out their underarm fuzz and boldly owned it in front of cameras.
