Shakira says her upcoming 12-show residency in Madrid was inspired by seeing Latin communities persecuted and families forced to live in fear around the world.
Taking place from September 18 until October 11, 2026, the residency will be held at the purpose-built Shakira Stadium within the city’s Iberdrola Music complex, with more than 50,000 fans expected per night.
The artist says the project is ultimately about bringing people together and using music and cultural connection to combat fear, division, and the growing loneliness of modern life.
The Madrid residency comes as Shakira continues one of the biggest comebacks of her career. After a seven-year break between albums, she released 'Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran' in 2024, turning the personal turmoil of her separation from Spanish former footballer Gerard Piqué into a record about heartbreak, resilience, and moving forward.
