Directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal, ‘The Bride!’ (2026) stars Christian Bale as Frankenstein’s resurrected monster from Mary Shelley’s classic novel. And as you can imagine, the transformation took immense effort.
Bale told Entertainment Weekly that he would “scream like crazy every day,” during the six hours spent in the makeup chair to transform into “Frank,” as the character calls himself. The Oscar winner ended up developing a ritual to get in the zone and keep himself “from going insane.”
The English actor said the ritual helped him release stress and restraint after sitting still for so long, adding that it also became a “great bonding experience” with the collaborators in the makeup trailer and beyond.
