Tens of thousands of people have signed an online petition calling for the deportation of Nicki Minaj, following the rapper’s recent political turn and comments in the United States.
The petition, published on Change.org in late December, gained traction after Minaj appeared on stage at a Turning Point USA event in Phoenix on December 21. During the appearance, Minaj praised President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, referring to them as “role models.” Petition organizers say her recent political alignment contrasts with earlier statements opposing strict immigration policies.
Minaj, who moved to the United States from Trinidad at age five, has previously said she is not a US citizen. At present, however, there is no indication of any legal action or deportation proceedings, and the petition carries no legal authority.
