Deportation

President Donald Trump has suggested that Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro, an American citizen from New York, should leave the US following a series of public criticisms made ahead of the State of the Union address. Posting on Truth Social, Trump labeled De Niro’s remarks “seriously CRIMINAL” and reiterated that the longtime critic should leave the country.

De Niro had appeared on MS NOW predicting that Trump “will never leave” office and urging Americans to “get rid of him.” He also spoke at a counter-event in Washington, D.C., where he said he felt “betrayed by my country” and warned of rising authoritarianism.

In the same online rant, Trump also lashed out at Democratic Representatives Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, both American citizens, as well as American comedian Rosie O’Donnell, whom he previously threatened with revoking citizenship despite constitutional protections.

The likelihood of those deportations from a legal standpoint is very unlikely, but certainly it wouldn't be their celebrity status alone to save them. Indeed, in this gallery we look at famous figures who were notoriously deported. From the Beatles to Hilton heirs, check out this list of notable celebs who have been deported.
