Caroline Kennedy paid tribute to her daughter, Tatiana Schlossberg, in an emotional speech at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library's annual Profile in Courage Award ceremony held on May 31.
The former US ambassador and daughter of President John F. Kennedy delivered a moving speech to more than 650 attendees, remembering her 35-year-old daughter who died in December 2025 after a battle with acute myeloid leukemia.
In her remarks, Kennedy also recognized Tatiana's husband, George Moran, along with his parents, Garrett and Mary Moran. Schlossberg and Moran shared two young children.
Speaking with visible emotion and a wavering voice as she fought back tears, Kennedy reflected on her daughter's contributions and character. "Most of all, we remember Tatiana, who served on the board of this library, and represented everything my parents stood for in her beautiful, amazing, and too-short life," she said.
The audience erupted in applause that lasted nearly 20 seconds in tribute to Schlossberg. As the room filled with recognition, Kennedy paused to acknowledge the crowd's support. "Thank you," she said softly amid the continued clapping.
Indeed, the thought of losing a child is simply unbearable—a nightmare you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy. Sadly, however, there are many people whose worst nightmare became a reality, as is the case for these stars who lost those they loved the most.
