Martin Short has broken his silence following the tragic death of his daughter, Katherine, calling the loss “a nightmare” for the family. The actor revealed that Katherine had battled severe mental health issues, including borderline personality disorder, for many years before her death at age 42 on February 24.
Short, who also lost his wife Nancy Dolman to cancer in 2010, said mental illness should be understood like any other disease. Katherine was remembered by loved ones as a kind and caring person who brought “light and joy” to those around her.
