Being an A-lister means all eyes are on you, which often leads to intense scrutiny and can make even a rich and famous person feel insecure. It's a topic that has arguably been mostly discussed by women, but, luckily, plenty of male celebrities have also opened up about their private battles with body image. From Hollywood hunks to all-star singers, many men have dealt with insecurities about their bodies.
Robert Pattinson has previously shared his struggles with body dysmorphia and the pressures of fame. He described male body standards as "insidious" in a recent interview with the Evening Standard. Pattinson revealed that he has tried countless fad diets and detoxes to get in shape. On one occasion, he ate nothing but boiled potatoes with Himalayan pink salt for two weeks to detox. "Apparently it’s a cleanse… you definitely lose weight.” No surprise there!
"It’s very, very easy to fall into that pattern as well, even if you’re just watching your calorie intake, it’s extraordinarily addictive — and you don’t quite realize how insidious it is until it’s too late," Patterson explained. For the young actor, his 2023 goal is to try consistency rather than following yo-yo diets and fads.
In this gallery, we recap the stories of male celebs who have been honest about their body image and physicality. Read on!
