Oasis guitarist and co-founder Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs has stepped away from the band's comeback tour to undergo treatment for prostate cancer. He announced he’ll miss shows in Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne, and Sydney, but shared on Instagram that he’s responded well to treatment and was grateful to be part of the tour so far. Despite the setback, Arthurs said he’s feeling good and expects to rejoin the band in time for their South American leg in November.
Indeed, it's estimated that 10 million people die of cancer every year, and nearly twice as many are diagnosed with the disease. It's an incredibly common and often devastating illness that has touched most of us in one way or another. Even still, it's surprising to learn just how many famous faces have battled cancer. Thankfully, many of them have lived to tell the tale and inspire us with their perseverance in the face of such adversity.
