Kevin Costner's wife of 18 years, Christine Baumgartner, filed for divorce from the actor on April 11, 2023, citing irreconcilable differences. According to their prenuptial agreement, Baumgartner had 30 days to leave the house they shared during their marriage, which is owned by Costner. Court documents obtained by TMZ on June 14 state that Baumgartner has refused to leave the property and has made multiple unwavering financial demands. The actor's lawyers claim that he has paid his wife an extra US$1 million on top of the settlement outlined in their prenup, which includes US$10,000 to assist with her moving costs and US$30,000 per month for rent. Sources say that Baumgartner's decision to divorce came as a result of Costner's frequent absences due to work, although he wanted them to stay together. The couple share three children between the ages of 13 and 16, and Costner has filed for joint custody.

Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock -

Kelly Clarkson filed for divorce from Brandon Blackstock in June 2020 after seven years of marriage. Blackstock reportedly requested US$436,000 in monthly spousal and child support, which would provide him with more than US$5.2 million per year to take care of himself and their two young children, of whom he does not have primary custody. Apparently he was just as unreasonable with his attorney fees too, as a source told People that he drove up the cost of the divorce with seven attorneys representing him alone, asking the singer to cover the fees of US$2 million.

Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock -

Things got even worse when Clarkson filed a fraud claim against Blackstock and his father, who had acted as her management for several years, claiming they had defrauded her out of millions. 

However, both parties were finally able to agree to an arrangement and the judge finalized the divorce in March of 2022. Clarkson has to pay Blackstock US$115,000 per month in spousal support and US$45,601 in child support, starting in 2024. She also had to make a one-time payment of US$1.3 million to her ex. Blackstock agreed to pay Clarkson US$14,500 per month in rent for his use of her properties.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West -

Early on, it seemed like Kim Kardashian and Kanye "Ye" West were going to have a relatively harmonious separation, but things soon turned nasty. Following the drama around whether Ye was allowed to attend his daughter Chicago's birthday party or not, he took to  Instagram on February 4, 2022, to share a screenshot of his 8-year-old daughter North's latest TikTok video.  "SINCE THIS IS MY FIRST DIVORCE," he wrote, "I NEED TO KNOW WHAT I SHOULD DO ABOUT MY DAUGHTER BEING PUT ON TIK TOK AGAINST MY WILL?" Kim, who oversees the account, replied soon after on her Instagram Story. "Kanye's constant attacks on me in interviews and on social media is actually more hurtful than any TikTok North might create," she wrote. "As the parent who is the main provider and caregiver for our children, I am doing my best to protect our daughter while also allowing her to express her creativity in the medium that she wishes with adult supervision — because it brings her happiness."

She went on to criticize his continuous public attacks. "Divorce is difficult enough on our children and Kanye's obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all," she wrote. She said she has only ever wanted "a healthy and supportive co-parenting relationship" and added, "it saddens me that Kanye continues to make it impossible every step of the way." Kim said that she wants to handle matters regarding their children privately, "and hopefully he can finally respond to the third attorney he has had in the last year to resolve any issues amicably." Ye responded to Kim's note later in the day with: "what do you mean by main provider?" Then on February 6 he went on another now-deleted posting spree in which he included a shocking allegation: "YESTERDAY KIM ACCUSED ME OF PUTTING A HIT OUT ON HER," he wrote, TMZ reports. He also said the Kardashians have accused him of being on drugs, of stealing, and that he had to "beg" to attend Chicago's birthday party. West also famously began a social media war with Kardashian's then-boyfriend Pete Davidson in 2022, insulting and threatening both Davidson and his soon-to-be ex-wife.

On February 24, it was reported that Kim Kardashian had filed a new request to speed up her divorce from Kanye "Ye" West. Court documents show that her lawyers implored the judge to ignore Ye's attempts to hinder the process, noting that he has made it clear he doesn't accept that the relationship is over. The request went on to say that Ye has been sharing "private communications and misinformation about personal family matters and co-parenting" on social media, which is causing Kardashian "emotional distress." On March 2, the judge granted Kardashian's wish and declared her legally single. By November 2022, the divorce had been finalized.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie -

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt purchased a French winery called Château Miraval together in 2008, where they later got married in 2014. They each had a 50% stake in the property and vineyard, but Jolie wanted to offload hers in the divorce. Pitt fought to gain the majority ownership, but Jolie chose to sell her shares to a Russian oligarch who manages a subsidiary of the Stoli group. Pitt is now suing Jolie to undo the deal, stating that he was supposed to be asked for his consent before any sale was completed. Pitt argues that he was the one who worked hard to make the winery a success over the years, while Jolie was pretty hands-off. He says the sale has seriously hindered his ability to run the business. His lawyers claim that Jolie purposefully hid the sale from him and made the choice simply to maximize her own profits.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt announced their split in 2016, but their never-ending divorce continues on. In a bombshell interview with The Guardian published September 4, 2021, Jolie revealed that she feared for the safety of her children and family during her marriage to Pitt. While discussing her new book 'Know Your Rights,' she stammered, "I...I'm still in my own legal situation," particularly regarding the allegations of child abuse leveled at Pitt—of which he was cleared in 2016—and their ensuing custody battle.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie - Though Jolie said she couldn't share details about the divorce due to ongoing court proceedings, she told the paper, “I’m not the kind of person who makes decisions like the decisions I had to make lightly. Dr. Dre and ex-wife Nicole Young went through an extremely contentious divorce for 18 months starting in June 2020, after 24 years of marriage. There were accusations of domestic violence and huge financial settlements, and TMZ alleged that once Dre was ambushed with legal papers as he was leaving the cemetery after attending his grandmother's funeral. In the end, they finalized the divorce from Nicole Young with a $100 million settlement.

Exes Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan finalized their divorce in 2019 and both since moved on with other relationships, however they headed to court in 2021 over unsettled finances. Dewan requested the trial in her divorce case from Tatum to discuss the money made from his 'Magic Mike' franchise, TMZ reports. According to the report, Dewan helped her then-husband find the best choreographer for the 'Magic Mike' live shows in Las Vegas, and when the shows were moved to London, she packed up and moved the family overseas to support him. Now the star of the show and his behind-the-scenes helper are at odds over their individual percentages of the profits. And to make matters worse, there are reportedly still other issues on the table like property assets and spousal support.
