CELEBRITY Retrospective

Born in Tennessee in 1939, Tina Turner was one of the last great iconic performers. Sadly, she passed away on May 24, 2023. The singer rose to fame with her partner, Ike, and later built a successful career as a solo star. You may have heard hits like 'Proud Mary' and 'River Deep Mountain High,' or seen her iconic outfits on the cover of 'Private Dancer.' The artist's remarkable talent gave rise to a collection of songs that have become eternal classics. And it seems like there’s more to discover about her remarkable career.

A Tina Turner track, lost for nearly four decades, will finally be released, marking a posthumous celebration of the legendary artist. Titled 'Hot For You Baby,' the song was originally created for her groundbreaking 1984 album 'Private Dancer' but never made it onto the final cut. Written by Australian songwriters George Young and Harry Vanda, and produced by John Carter—who contributed extensively to the 'Private Dancer' sessions—the track was shelved for reasons unknown. Initially recorded by Scottish-Australian artist John Paul Young in 1979, the song failed to gain traction at the time. Now rediscovered, 'Hot For You Baby' will debut on March 21 as part of a special edition release, showcasing Turner’s unmistakable raspy vocals and vibrant bass-heavy rhythms that epitomize her iconic style.
