Sabrina Carpenter has obtained a temporary restraining order following an incident on May 23 when a man showed up at her Los Angeles home and tried to force his entry into the house. Security cameras later showed he had been by the property multiple times in just a matter of days, at least as early as April 20.
"It is clear to me that his approach was deliberate, calculated, and aggressive," the star said in her request, adding that the man was "conducting what can only be described as deliberate surveillance of my movements and my home."
The restraining order protects her as well as everyone living with her, including her sister, Sarah, and Sarah’s boyfriend, George Smith.
The alleged stalker has been identified as 31-year-old William Applegate. When police arrived, he tried to explain that Carpenter knew and was expecting him, which she immediately denied.
On May 29, a judge granted Carpenter’s request, which orders Applegate to stay at least 100 yards from the star, her home, her car, her workplace, and the other residents of her home.
