Elton John has marked 36 years of sobriety, saying he is “grateful for every single day.” The 79-year-old music icon celebrated the milestone on Instagram on July 29, sharing a photo of himself raising a glass of his alcohol-free sparkling wine.
“36 years sober today. Raising a 0% glass to life,” John wrote in the post, which he also shared to his Instagram Stories with his 1983 hit 'I’m Still Standing.'
The singer launched Elton John Zero Blanc de Blancs with husband David Furnish in January 2026. The alcohol-free sparkling wine reflects a milestone that has become central to John’s public story, after years of openness about his past struggles with alcohol and drugs.
