We have entered a time where celebrities have little choice but to make their politics clear. The seemingly separate realms of celebrity and politics have blurred, with many stars even trying their hand at running for office. What’s more, there are plenty of A-listers who are surprisingly good friends with political figures.
Bruce Springsteen had long made his support for former US president Barack Obama clear, but the pair also became very good friends and even started up a podcast together called 'Renegades: Born in the USA.' Now, after the success of the podcast, they've turned it into a book, which similarly delves into conversations about race, the American dream, and their respective stories of growing up, while trying to draw out a common experience of the US beneath the polarization and anger of late. But this friendship is far from the first of its kind. Here's a roundup of surprising celebrity friends of politicians, from all around the world.
