Prince Harry is hoping to bring Meghan Markle and their children, Lilibet and Archie, back to England in the coming weeks—though there remains no indication he will reunite with his estranged brother, Prince William, according to sources close to Page Six.
The 41-year-old prince is expected to arrive this July to promote his Invictus Games, which will take place in Birmingham in July 2027, and he very much wants his family to accompany him to visit his father, King Charles.
But the ongoing dispute over his security arrangements with the UK government continues to pose a significant obstacle, even as Harry holds out hope that the Home Office will eventually grant armed protection funded by taxpayers for his wife and children.
Harry has been vocal about his need for armed security when in the UK, sharing with the BBC last May that he was "devastated" to lose a legal challenge over his security.
"I can't see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point," he acknowledged. Also adding, "I would love reconciliation with my family. There's no point continuing to fight any more, life is precious," noting that security had "always been the sticking point."
These comments reflect how much Harry's priorities have shifted since his days as a young royal. From his early reputation as a rebellious figure to his current role as a devoted father, his journey has been marked by significant transformation—one that led him to step away from royal duties altogether.
With that in mind, let's take a walk down memory lane and explore the long road from British enfant terrible to respectable father to rebel ex-royal.
