Rihanna has made history as the first woman to surpass 200 million RIAA singles certifications, reaching 200.5 million (multi-Platinum) units as of April 15. The achievement places her third on the all-time list, behind Drake and Morgan Wallen.
RIAA singles certifications are official awards given by the Recording Industry Association of America to recognize how many units a song has sold or streamed in the United States.
The milestone is particularly notable given that Rihanna has not released a studio album since ‘Anti’ in 2016. In recent years, she has contributed select tracks, including songs for ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ (2022) and the upcoming ‘Smurfs’ project.
Of course, Rihanna’s influence extends far beyond music, spanning fashion and business ventures that have reshaped the industry. Celebrate her journey and evolution through the years in the following gallery. Just click on to explore.
