Danielle Fishel
- The US actress known for starring in the show 'Boy Meets World,' recently revealed that she has been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer. The 43-year-old shared the news on an August 19 episode of her podcast, 'Pod Meets World.' “It is very, very, very early. It's technically stage zero," Fishel explained. “I was diagnosed with high-grade DCIS with micro invasion. And I'm going to be fine, I'm having surgery to remove it.” DCIS stands for ductal carcinoma in situ, which is a kind of breast cancer. Fishel went on to explain that the only reason she caught the disease so early was that she got a text reminder to make her yearly mammogram appointment.

Tina Knowles reveals breast cancer diagnosis
The 71-year-old gave an emotional interview with Gayle King
© Getty Images
The 71-year-old revealed she was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer in her left breast after doctors detected two tumors during a delayed mammogram. Knowles explained that she missed her regular screening during the COVID-19 pandemic and didn’t get it rescheduled until last year. During that appointment, doctors found two tumors—one was benign, but the other tested positive for Stage 1 cancer.
Her story is a powerful reminder of the importance of regular screenings. Breast cancer remains the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women worldwide. In countries like the US, one in eight women is diagnosed with breast cancer within their lifetime.
