They'd met before 'Titanic' - While many say they met during 'Titanic,' the duo actually first met at the Cannes Film Festival, after they'd both heard that the other had auditioned, Winslet told Magnus Sundholm.

There was technically magic the first time they met - Winslet said she met DiCaprio in a hotel room with magician David Blaine, who was doing some magic tricks. After marveling at how long ago it seemed, the actress added, "That's one of my greatest friendships and I'm so lucky to have him. He makes me laugh so much."

Their magic flowed on-screen - While promoting 'Titanic' in 1997, DiCaprio told Entertainment Tonight, "She's such a terrific person in general that our chemistry naturally happened on screen. We just like each other as people."

Other things took a bit more effort - "As far as doing a love scene, though," DiCaprio added, "we laughed about it a lot."

A lifelong friendship began -

Winslet was not immune to his charm - In a clip from 1998 obtained by Oprah Winfrey, Winslet said, "I was like probably how all the women in this audience are, about Leonardo DiCaprio. Initially, I thought, 'Ugh, how am I gonna work with this beautiful man who's such a brilliant actor?' And I met him and he's honestly so lovely and down-to-earth and normal and so good at what he does."

DiCaprio had the cutest response - When Oprah played the clip for him in 2004, he responded, "That's my girl," and added that he felt the same about her. "It was just the toughest film we ever had to make and we were partners together."

He gave her quite the title - On that same Oprah episode, DiCaprio told the audience that Winslet was his favorite on-screen kiss.

They continue to gush about each other - In 2005, during an interview with Extra on the SAG red carpet, DiCaprio said Winslet hasn't changed a bit, despite the fame. "She's a fantastic human being."

Cheering each other on - Winslet then gushed to DiCaprio, "I just feel so proud that you've turned into this really special person."

And the greatest interview exit on record - As DiCaprio left the Extra interview, he gave Winslet a kiss on the cheek and said, "I love you, sweetheart," sending tremors through the hearts of every hopeless romantic.

Then came 'Revolutionary Road' - A decade after 'Titanic,' the two reunited for 2008's 'Revolutionary Road,' this time as a married couple in the '50s.

Reflecting on how they'd changed - In an interview on Today, Winslet said they'd both gotten more wrinkles, and that DiCaprio hadn't changed much, other than becoming "less puny."

DiCaprio had a slightly sweeter response - "She's still as beautiful and radiant as the day I met her," he said, adding that Winslet puts so much into her work and that's why, in his eyes, "she's the best."

They had their hopes up for more collaborations - During the 'Revolutionary Road' press tour in 2008, DiCaprio spoke about how great it is to work with one of his best friends, and that he'd always be looking to work with Winslet again.

Then Winslet won the Golden Globe in 2009 - In her acceptance speech, for Best Actress in 'Revolutionary Road,' Winslet said, "Leo, I'm so happy I can stand here and tell you how much I love you and how much I've loved you for 13 years...I love you with all my heart, I really do."

DiCaprio blew a kiss from the audience - It's interesting to note, however, that at that time Winslet was married to Sam Mendes, the director of 'Revolutionary Road.' Perhaps unsurprisingly, that marriage didn't last...

More cuteness with Oprah - During a 2009 interview, DiCaprio said, "In a lot of ways, Kate and I have really grown up in this industry together," explaining that they've supported and helped guide each other for so long.

DiCaprio walked Winslet down the aisle - Winslet had reportedly chosen DiCaprio to walk her down the aisle for her third marriage in 2012, to Ned Rocknroll.

Winslet genuinely admires DiCaprio - In 2013, the actress spoke about DiCaprio's individuality, clarifying that it's not a brazen disregard, but rather it's the way he refuses to let other people's judgment impact his life and character. "I have really admired that so much in him."

They party together - At the 2016 Golden Globes, DiCaprio said he'd love to work with Winslet again because she's his favorite actress in the industry, and then added, "She's actually hanging out with me tonight. We're gonna go to the after-parties together."

Their love for each other only grows - In 2016, Winslet raved to People about DiCaprio's loyalty and friendship. "He's a stronger actor in this moment than he's ever been," she said, adding that he's even more handsome now than before.

Winslet refused to boycott the Oscars because of him - In 2016, while many people boycotted the Oscars because of the lack of diversity, Winslet couldn't because she felt it might be the year DiCaprio would win his first award. "He is my closest friend in the world and I just couldn't imagine not being there to support him," she said.

And the iconic Oscar moment - When DiCaprio finally received his first-ever Oscar in 2016, for 'The Revenant,' the cameras cut to Winslet watching him with tears in her eyes.

They worry about each other - In 2017, Winslet spoke to E! News about her role in 'The Mountain Between Us,' admitting that she told DiCaprio about the extremely cold weather conditions and he asked her if she really knew what she was setting herself up for.

They're playful - Knowing he was nervous about her filming conditions, Winslet said she'd send him photos of herself lying on the freezing snow-covered ice with the text, "Thinking of you," and he'd send back "slightly worried emojis."

We can only imagine what their hangouts look like - In 2017, Winslet said their conversations are so wildly funny that they find themselves saying to each other, "Can you imagine if the world really knew the stupid things we say?"

But Winslet did mention that they sometimes "quote the odd 'Titanic' line back and forth to each other, because only we can, and we find it really funny." They're just as obsessed with the film as we are!
