In an exclusive interview with People published on August 24, the eldest daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, Rumer Willis, candidly spoke about the daunting testing process she has undergone amid her father's frontotemporal dementia diagnosis, as she recently partnered up with health testing membership service Function.
"It’s terrifying to get answers sometimes," Rumer Willis admitted during the interview. "Obviously there are genetic things in my family. Not just dementia, I’ve had some family members who have had breast cancer and family members who have had different things. But I think when you have information, it’s power," she added.
According to the Alzheimer’s Society, in most cases dementia is not inherited; however, there may be a strong genetic link for rare types of the condition.
