Famous flyers: These celebrities are licensed pilots -

John Travolta took to Instagram on March 20, 2022, to proudly announce that he has yet again boosted his aeronautical credentials and is now licensed to fly a 737 airplane.

“A very proud moment in my aviation history,” the 68-year-old actor said in a video while he stood in front of the enormous jet. "To add to my 747 and 707 licenses, I just received my 737 license, and it went very well, so just sharing my moment with you," he added with a big smile. His friends, including Tommy Lee, Donnie Wahlberg, and Naomi Campbell, poured in with congratulations in the comments section.

Flying has been a lifelong passion for the 'Saturday Night Fever' star, who learned how to fly a plane when he was just 15 years old and received his first pilot license back in 1978.

John Travolta is a well-known pilot and has been photographed jetting around in his uniform for many years. Unlike most celebs, he is licensed to pilot several types of aircraft, including commercial planes. He also reportedly owns at least seven planes, including a Boeing 707, Bombardier Challenger 601, Boeing 727 and three Gulfstream jets, Page Six reports.

Tom Cruise is one of several celebrities who is well-known for his flying skills. He does so many of his own stunts, it's no surprise that he actually learned to fly as well! That being said, it was still a surprise for a local English family when his helicopter landed in their back garden. The Warwickshire residents were contacted to ask permission for an "unnamed VIP" to land on their property due to the temporary closure of a nearby airport. They agreed, and were blown away when they saw it was Tom Cruise behind the controls! He immediately went over to the children and offered them a ride in his helicopter. Needless to say, they accepted this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
