Rob Lowe has named German actress and former model Nastassja Kinski as his best on-screen kiss, recalling that he was “very, very scared” to kiss her when they worked together.
During an appearance on 'Watch What Happens Live' on September 27, the actor was asked by host Andy Cohen to name his favorite on-camera kiss during a game of Plead the Fifth. Lowe immediately chose Kinski, despite Cohen mentioning his other co-stars, including Demi Moore, Rashida Jones, Kim Cattrall, Calista Flockhart, and Meg Tilly.
When Cohen asked why Kinski stood out, Lowe replied, “Have a look at her,” before adding, “At that moment in time, she was probably the most beautiful woman I’d certainly ever seen.”
Lowe and Kinski co-starred in the 1984 comedy-drama 'The Hotel New Hampshire,' directed by Tony Richardson and based on John Irving’s 1981 novel of the same name.
Lowe's experience aside, despite how it may look in the final cut, on-screen kisses are rarely romantic. Add a huge film crew and multiple takes, and the intimate moments are anything but. Some actors are very professional and do their best to make their co-star comfortable, but others aren't so considerate. In fact, some go out of their way to make it terrible!
