In an interview with the Daily Mail published on December 12, George Clooney said that he will no longer be "kissing girls" on set. The decision was made after a conversation with his wife, Amal Clooney, about his age.
"I've been trying to go the route Paul Newman did," he said, referring to the late acting icon's shift away from romantic roles later in his career. "'OK, well, I'm not kissing a girl any more.'"
Well, perhaps he wasn't that good at it anyway! In an earlier New York Times interview, Clooney shared this anecdote:
"I remember early on in my career, I had to do a kissing scene with this girl and the director goes, 'Not like that.' And I was like, 'Dude, that’s my move! That’s what I do in real life!'" Indeed, despite how it may look in the final cut, on-screen kisses are rarely romantic. Add a huge film crew and multiple takes, and the intimate moments are anything but. Some actors are very professional and do their best to make their co-star comfortable, but others aren't so considerate. In fact, some go out of their way to make it terrible!
