Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown is back in US custody after being arrested on charges of attempted second-degree murder with a deadly weapon. According to TMZ Sports, Brown was extradited from Dubai on November 7 and handed over to American authorities in New York before being transferred to South Florida, where the alleged incident occurred in May.
Authorities say Brown was accused of trying to shoot a man, identified as Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, during an influencer boxing event hosted by Adin Ross in Florida. The former football star has denied the allegations, claiming he acted in self-defense.
The Miami-Dade Department of Corrections confirmed Brown is expected to remain in custody pending further legal proceedings. The arrest marks the latest controversy in a long string of off-field troubles for the former NFL standout, who once won a Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
