CELEBRITY

Actress

Jane Fonda has reflected on the difficulties of her early years, revealing that she once believed she wouldn’t make it to 30, fearing she would “die from drugs and loneliness.”

During a November 19 conversation on Michelle Obama’s podcast 'The Look,' the 87-year-old opened up about those painful memories. Speaking alongside model and activist Bethann Hardison and 'Real Housewives of New York' star Jenna Lyons in a discussion about aging, Fonda said, “I didn’t think I’d live past 30. I was sure I was going to die.”

Fonda is one of cinema's most celebrated actresses. She's also one of its most controversial. A two-time Academy Award winner, Fonda has starred in some of Hollywood's finest pictures. A political and social activist for much of her life, Fonda is also a feminist and committed environmentalist. Now in her eighties, she's still working in film and television, and getting arrested for protesting climate change!
