Director Adam Marcus has reignited debate about the late Val Kilmer after sharing a series of now-deleted Thread posts reflecting on their work together on the 2008 film 'Conspiracy.' In the posts, Marcus referred to Kilmer as the “worst human being I’ve ever known,” and dismissed criticism of speaking negatively about someone who has died.
He also claimed that if Kilmer “did one-tenth of what he did on my set today, he would have been cancelled in a blink.”
The comments add to a long-running conversation about Kilmer’s reputation on set. Over the years, several filmmakers described the actor as difficult to work with, though Kilmer himself addressed the subject in the 2021 documentary 'Val,' acknowledging past behavior while maintaining he had no regrets.
Kilmer, best known for roles in 'Top Gun' (1986) and 'Batman Forever' (1995), died of pneumonia on April 1, 2025.
