Mandy Moore has opened up about an unsuccessful IVF journey before becoming pregnant with her third child, daughter Louise “Lou” Goldsmith. Speaking on the 'Not Skinny But Not Fat' podcast on June 2, Moore said she underwent IVF as an “insurance policy” while she and her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, considered expanding their family.
Although she conceived her first two children naturally, Moore said the treatment failed to produce any viable embryos, leading her to believe a third child might not be in their future.
The star said she was “very surprised” when she later became pregnant naturally with Lou, who was born in September 2024. Moore also shared that she is still “emotionally recovering” from having three children in just over three years.
Indeed, women who are brave enough to talk about their experience of fertility struggles, and even miscarriage, often mention feelings of inadequacy and isolation. But these struggles are more common than many realize.
