When we think of American high schools, one of the first things that springs to mind is cheerleading. Along with prom kings and queens and shark tank cafeterias, cheerleading is up there as one of the most stereotypically American high school experiences.
As an activity, it can range from simply chanting slogans to an intense physical workout, and it's perfectly possible to be a good or bad cheerleader. In fact, cheerleading itself is a competitive sport.
