Barbra Streisand has shared a health update after withdrawing from the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, where she was due to receive an honorary Palme d’Or award. In a statement released on May 18, the 84-year-old said she was unable to attend on the advice of her doctors as she continues recovering from a knee injury.
The EGOT-winning star said she was “deeply honored” to receive the recognition and had been looking forward to celebrating this year’s festival and reconnecting with fellow filmmakers in France. Cannes organizers confirmed the tribute to Streisand will still take place during the festival’s closing ceremony at the Grand Théâtre Lumière.
