Late actress Daveigh Chase left behind an estate valued at an estimated US$400,000 after dying without a will, according to probate documents obtained by People. The filings show that Chase's mother, Cathy Chase, has petitioned to be appointed administrator of the estate, which consists entirely of personal property and no real estate.
The documents state that Chase, who died on June 16 at age 35, was unmarried, had no children, and was unhoused at the time of her death.
Best known for voicing Lilo in 'Lilo & Stitch' and playing Samara Morgan in 'The Ring,' both released in 2002, Chase's cause of death was later ruled to be AIDS, with chronic polysubstance use listed as another significant condition.
Indeed, you'd think that making a will was a priority for any wealthy individual, but especially a successful celebrity whose personal assets can be worth millions. But there are many stars out there who appear not to have had the will power to make this most fundamental of provisos, and ended up causing all sorts of legal headaches for those left behind.
