I listen to music and audiobooks. It makes it go faster. I don’t love working out but does anyone? I love the way I feel afterward."

The best celebrity workout advice
Padma Lakshmi reveals how she stays fit when her job is to eat food
© Getty Images
When your job involves both looking good for cameras and eating food, you've got to have some holistic structure to your fitness regime. For Padma Lakshmi, award-winning cookbook author and 'Top Chef' host, there are no secrets involved.
"Honestly, the secret is just living in the gym," the 50-year-old told Daily Pop on August 30. "I spend a lot of time working out. I work out at least five or six days a week for one or two hours a day. I have to, because I'm working with food. I have two TV shows that both require me to eat a ton of food." She's referring to the series 'Taste the Nation,' of which she's also a host and travels the US sampling diverse food cultures of various immigrant groups.
"It just takes a lot of hard work but I'd rather eat more food that I enjoy and just put more time in in the gym than starve myself because that's not healthy and I'm not capable of that anyways," Lakshmi said, adding that when she's not traveling she also tries to stick to a plant-based diet.
It seems stars are always in fantastic shape. Some of them got their rocking bodies through sheer hard work and dedication, and others needed a helping hand to motivate them to get off the couch.
Finding a workout that's efficient in keeping us fit and healthy while not being too boring or agonizing is often the trick. Other times, it's all about pushing ourselves to the limit. One thing is for sure, we need a plan and we need to know or be shown what to do. To learn some tips and tricks from some of the biggest celebrities in the world on how to stay fit, healthy, and in great shape, click through the gallery.
