Celebrities who have walked the runway
Kanye West makes surprise runway debut in muddy Balenciaga show
© Getty Images
Most models will tell you that it's no easy gig to be constantly scrutinized for your looks, which is perhaps why many celebrities actually transitioned out of modeling once they got their big break acting, singing, or with their business endeavors.
Still, numerous celebrities—like most of us—have wondered how well they could strut their stuff down the runway, and indeed many have tried! It's a much easier feat to land once you've already got star power, but many of these musicians, actors, and famous personalities have demonstrated some real talent. Others, however, are probably glad they've still got their day job.
Kanye West moved from designer to model as he made his catwalk debut opening Balenciaga's mud-filled show during Paris Fashion Week. His surprising appearance and distinct strut added a little starry shine to the sludge-soaked, apocalyptic-themed Summer 2023 show, with his daughter North West and her aunts Khloe Kardashian and Kylie Jenner in the audience. Ye wore a black, oversized, military-inspired jacket and leather pants, along with a hoodie over a cap to partially obscure his face, which appears to be his preferred level of visibility lately.
