'Squid Game' season 2 details revealed: see which cast members to return

Anyone who has watched Netflix’s hit series ‘Squid Game’ knows that you can’t help but binge the episodes that keep your on the edge of your seat, biting your nails, and agonizing over the choices the characters are faced with. The series quickly smashed Netflix’s record for the most watched show of all time, gaining over 130 million viewers in less than a month. It's no surprise then that a second season is on its way. Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk previously confirmed that he had a storyline for season two already formed, but the only spoiler he gave was “that Gi-hun is going to be back, and he will do something for the world.”
Now Netflix has shared exclusive new details for the second season on June 17 as part of its Tudum Global Fan Event in Brazil. The new teaser announced both returning and new cast members, with series lead Lee Jung-jae, playing Gi-hun, back for a second round. Also returning will be the masked character of “Front Man,” played by Lee Byung-hun, and Wi Ha-jun, who plays the cop in search of his missing brother, CNN reports. New cast members include Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, and Yang Dong-geun.
'Squid Game' introduced Korean media to those who hadn’t yet discovered its wonders, and luckily, there are plenty of suspenseful thrillers on this list for you to enjoy while you await its second season, whose release date was not immediately available.
Many Korean TV shows and movies have become popular worldwide in recent years, and for good reason. Directors like Bong Joon-ho and Park Chan-wook have created some of the most imaginative and electrifying movies of the 21st century, and ‘Squid Game’ is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to gripping TV.
