How many Brits grew up with Barbara Windsor? Every day, millions would watch Windsor as the lovable Peggy Mitchell in ‘EastEnders’. Before that, she was both hilarious and seductive in the wildly popular ‘Carry On’ films throughout the ‘60s and ‘70s. The beloved East End native has been recognized as an icon by everyone from the University of East London to the British royal family. She sadly passed away in 2020 after battling Alzheimer's disease, but her decades of service to the public through entertainment and charity work have cemented her as a true British legend.
