As the new Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton honored the former woman to hold that title, her late mother-in-law Diana, at the 2022 Earthshot Prize awards on December 2 by donning more of her favorite jewelry. Middleton showcased her sustainable style in a rented green dress and accessorized with Princess Diana's emerald and diamond choker, which had actually been loaned to Diana by Queen Elizabeth II, CNN reports. The vibrant green dress Middleton wore in Boston was a Solace London gown reportedly rented from online platform HURR for just £74 (US$90).

In the wake of Queen Elizabeth II's death, Kate Middleton walked in Her Royal Highness' fashion footsteps. Middleton, the Princess of Wales, joined Prince William, King Charles, Queen Camilla and more members of the royal family on September 17 for a lunch reception at Buckingham Palace where they hosted governors-general of the Commonwealth nations who arrived for the late monarch's funeral. Middleton wore a three-strand necklace of pearls that belonged to the Queen, and which was the monarch's go-to item of jewelry, Buckingham Palace confirmed. Middleton also wore a pair of pearl and diamond earrings that previously belonged to the Queen, People reports.
