A month later, news has spread of the death of Kyle Kennedy, one of Robert F. Kennedy's 34 grandchildren, at her home in Westwood, Massachusetts. She passed away at the age of 42 on September 21.
The daughter of Michael Kennedy and Victoria Gifford Kennedy, Kyle taught in New York public schools and advocated for disability rights after a severe spinal cord injury in 2020 left her paralyzed. She is survived by two sons, Conor and Declan, along with her mother and siblings. Her cause of death was pending at the time of reporting.
Her death adds another chapter to a family legacy that is marred by tragedy and controversy. The Kennedys are leaders, politicians, ambassadors, captains of industry, philanthropists, and environmental activists, but at the same time they're seen as reckless philanderers, drug abusers, scandal-mongers, and, perhaps, the victims of a curse.
