Conor Kennedy, son of US Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has been placed on Russia’s international wanted list after a Russian court authorized his arrest in absentia, according to The Independent, in a report published August 13. The 32-year-old faces up to 10 years in prison on mercenary charges over his service in Ukraine.
Kennedy secretly joined Ukraine’s International Legion in 2022 and served in the Kharkiv region during the early months of the war. Several other foreign volunteers from the US, UK, Sweden, Colombia, and the Czech Republic have also been targeted in similar Russian court rulings.
The case adds another twist to the complicated legacy of the Kennedy family, which has produced politicians, diplomats, activists, and other prominent public figures.
